CARTERTON

Monday 7.30pm

St Josephs Church Hall, Arkell Avenue, Carterton

Formed 12th May 2002

The meeting was started by Gerry R who lives in the town. His idea to start the group came about when the Catholic Church Hall was reopened after 25 years.

It was thought that to be a good venue for a meeting ( if a little cold during the winter !! ), and if held on a Monday night would not clash with other meetings nearby.

Gerrys' wife encouraged him, and on Monday 12th May 2003 the first AA meeting in Carterton was held.

All the people who arrived that night are recorded in the Groups Big Book. The meeting has continued to thrive until the present time and attracts between 15 and 20 each week.
