After much deliberation, untimely delays, sobriety-testing glitches and real life distractions we are pleased to launch our new web presence. It was decided at Intergroup level that we should maintain our site within the official confines of the Alcoholics Anonymous UK site. We are happy for people to link in and we would even consider links out. As long as agreement is reached prior to any linkage. The site contains links to all the major pages on the mother site plus a direct link to the homepage of http://www.alcoholics-anonymous.org.uk/. These are to be found within the left hand vertical menu. The top horizontal menu contains the links to the Chiltern & Thames Intergroup specific pages with news, events, updates, local meetings and service positions to be filled throughout our intergroup areas... The site is owned by us, the intergroup, by dint of necessity someone has to be "in-charge" and it would make sense for that person to be the current ECLO or a designated helper. The editing of this site is designed to accommodate those among us who have no knowledge of computer or internet-based coding languages. If you can open and write a word document you can edit this site. The controls are made that simple. This guarantees that we are able to make the editorial positions available to a broader spectrum of 'trusted servants'. The site will probably change as we get used to what we want it to achieve and what we actually process through it. It's up to us. The internet is a phenomenal tool for the distribution of instant publishing information and we have it at our disposal. Please use the site. Please ask questions, make suggestions. Feel free to offer skills you feel may enhance the usefulness of the site. Any queries at this point should be forwarded to your Electronic Communications Liaison Officer at chiltern&thamesECLO@aa-email.org.uk Yours in Service Mike Mac |
