the collective voice and conscience of the majority of the following 117 AA
Groups situated not only within the north
west area of The City
of Glasgow, but also within the districts of Bearsden, Milngavie, Bishopbriggs and
immediately outwith the City boundary.
The
aims of an Intergroup are to aid the constituent Groups in their common purpose
of carrying the AA message to the
still
suffering alcoholic and, by using their combined strength and unity, to improve
and maintain good relations with all
organisations in
the community.
Glasgow
North West Intergroup, in line with all other Intergroups, elect
a Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary,
Treasurer
and the following Liaison
Officers to work together through a service committee structure ; Prison
Liaison Officer,
Public Information Officer, Health Liaison
Officer, Employment Liaison Officer, Courts/Social Services Liaison Officer,
Telephone Liaison Officer, Roundabout (AA
Magazine) Liaison Officer, Electronic Communications Liaison Officer,
and Internal Liaison
Officer.
It
is the earnest wish of Glasgow North West Intergroup that each and every AA
Group within the
represented at
its monthly meetings, and all Groups are urged to select a Group Service
Representative to come along,
participate, and be
part of this vitally important forum in AA structure.
Any
member of Alcoholics Anonymous may attend an Intergroup
meeting as an observer. Anyone who is a member of
any of
the constituent groups and who is either considering becoming involved in
service, or simply desiring to find out
more
about our service and communication structure, would be warmly received. Such
persons would be welcome to
participate in
any discussion but would not be permitted
to vote on any matter unless they
were there in proper capacity
as a
Group Service Representative.
